Crappy Week at Work
Mad, Manic, Stressed ... kinda sums up this week, little chance to get much done other than WORK.
The Weathercam view was moved last weekend (in an attempt to capture the sunrise) so will post the first weeks time-lapse over the weekend. A Long Wire Antenna was strung up for my Shortwave Radio also last weekend, but it seems the advent of this new fangled internet thing is making many countries consider the cost of running Broadcast shortwave services, and consequently closing their services down ..(making the bands very quiet).. with the exception of China (who are extremely prolific) and just a small handful other nations who are keeping shortwave alive, its a real shame. Still .. Radio Caroline Bang through on 648Khz (MW) from their transmission site at Orfordness, running off the old BBC World Service standby mast, the ol' girl finally welcomed into society, and I am pleased to say ... keeping the dream alive. Also discovered Radio MiAmigo ... I think running out of the USA ... and manage to get a signal now and then ... also doing their bit (but why Mi Amigo is coming from the States is beyond me!) Also managed to get Caroline (during their "End of Month Transmissions from the Ross Revenge) on 1368Khz am (MANX Radio, 270 Miles away) here in Suffolk, with almost the same signal strength as the 648Khz signal from Orfordness, less than just 30 miles away.
